This collection consists of a microfilm copy of a genealogical table and other genealogical materials for Benjamin Williams of South Carolina, prepared by Walter S. McDonald to accompany an application to the North Carolina Society of the Cincinnati. Benjamin Williams (1754-1817) was a Lieutenant in the 2nd Regiment of the North Carolina Continental Line during the Revolutionary War. Also included are records from the National Archives and South Carolina showing Revolutionary services and genealogy. The genealogical table includes the lineage of the McDonald family of South Carolina. This genealogy appears as item 6 on the microfilm roll X-1545-05; this roll contains materials from multiple collections. This genealogy was microfilmed by the Georgia Department of Archives and History in 1966.

Walter S. McDonald (b. 1900) was the son of William O. McDonald (1868-1930) and Katie St. Clair McDonald (1870-1953). He married Ellen Bates Cleveland (b. 1898) in 1928.
